Black Sears Estate Zinfandel - $70
The Black Sears Estate Zinfandel is the best Zinfandel in the universe. Head-trained, dry-farmed, 43-year old vines on ol’ St George rootstock, with the bud wood coming from the historic Hayne Vineyard.
Layered, nuanced, and as complex and mysterious as Dostoevsky with more herbs and spices than the Colonel, this is a big mountain Zin that drinks more like a Cab. Pair with leg of lamb, pepperoni pizza, or anything you can think of to blacken, grill, or smoke.
Black Sears Estate Cabernet Franc | $125
Originally planted in the 90s to blend with our Cabernet Sauvignon, we began to produce a 100% Cabernet Franc from the steep hillside vineyard at the behest of winemaker Thomas Brown in 2008. It may be our favorite wine now. Floral yet meaty and spicy, the Estate Cab Franc is Black Sears at its finest and most unique.
This wine is produced in very limited quantities of fewer than 100 cases per vintage, and is therefore allocated exclusively to members.
Black Sears Estate Cabernet Sauvignon - $125
Highest elevation Howell Mountain See-clone Cabernet Sauvignon handcrafted by the incomparable Thomas Rivers Brown, Black Sears Estate Cabs are incredibly concentrated, structured wines that gracefully walk the line between power and elegance. These are site-driven wines whose spice and minerality perfectly compliment the abundant black and red fruit – an homage to their mountaintop origins.
