Winemaker

Ted Lemon has been producing outstanding wines for Black Sears Estate since 1997. In addition to being an excellent winemaker, he has a deep and thorough understanding of viticulture and how vineyard techniques impact the finished wines.

Ted was the first American to be winemaker and vineyard manager for Burgundian wine estate – Domaine Guy Roulot. After receiving an enology degree from the Universite de Dijon in 1981, he worked at many prestigious estates in Burgundy – Domaine Georges Roumier, Domaine de Villaine and Domaine Dujac as wll as others. Ted returned to the United States and became the founding winemaker for Chateau Woltner before branching out into consulting and creating his own wine, Littorai.

In addition to producing Black Sears Estate and Littorai, Ted has consulted for many wineries both large and small.
